I bet we got the same bator from the same place. Did you get yours from gqfmfg.com? That's were I got mine. I didn't even have enough room for all the bobwhites. 6 never went in and 7 are on the side but the rest are in a turner rack. The rest are chicken eggs.

My bator is holding steady at 100.0 with 70% humidity. I opened the plug on top the try to lower the humidity. We'll see. If anyone has a better idea, let me know.

Glad you all are joining me. Now I know I'm not alone.

Thanks

Yes, I did, and I didn't put all the bobwhite eggs in either, I had too many!! My humidity is at 60, I hope that's OK,maybe I can get some pointers, think I should bump it up and add a sponge? No matter how much water I put in, it stays at 60. I wonder if it's because I don't have as many chicken eggs in, I think I have about 16 chicken and 20 quail. Mine is also at 100 deg and holding on. When do you think we start to candle them little guys?

**I am a nervous wreck**I just want it to go right

I hear you there!

Well the candling. I have the other bator at my friend babylady4's house. Her bator, my eggs.

She agreed to hatch the eggs for me. Great lady. She put those in on the 20th and on Friday night I went over to her house and she candled them for me. You could tell which ones were working! It was really cool. I have never seen candling. I was amazed. One even had a really dark mass the size of an eraser off a pencil! She said by the next week we should be able to see the eyes.

I am using a Genesis as well - love the thing!

This is my second batch ever. The first one went well. 79% success with shipped and home eggs.

I am setting FBCM, Welsummers, Molltted Javas, Olive eggs and BCM/Olive eggs. As you can see from my post...my bator is overfull. We'll see how that works out. Good luck to you all. I will be with you and following along.

Nah! You're fine. I'm going to have chicks coming out of my ears when this is all done. 3 different hatch dates. 3/11, 3/13-3/14, and 3/20-3/21. And, well , longer depending on the Bobwhite quail. I'm really trying hard to freak out yet. I know my time will come.

I set the 27th as well!! In my R-com I have coronation sussex and EE's. I have a Genisis with chicks hatching as I type (our own cute mutts) and tomorrow I will set 24 or so again!

I personally use a much lower humidity until lockdown (35-40%, then 65% at lockdown). On the Genisis, you can lower it by propping one corner up a wee bit at a time till you get the humidity you like. I think both are great incubators!

Good luck everyone
