Add me to the list! This is my second hatch. I'm using a rebuilt GQF 1502 with the automatic watering system (so I won't have to open the bator to add water every 2days). The cabinet part was in bad shape so we used the insides and rebuilt the cabinet part. We're using the dry incubation method...and I'm trying to get my humidity up. I think my problem is we're using cardboard egg cartons. I think they soak up some of the humidity. Right now we're at 35%. I think that is ok. But I don't want to use the wick pads until lockdown. So, this is day 4. I'm hatching 5 red sex links, 8 silver laced wyandottes, and 6 Jersey Giants. I put the jersey giants in about 12hrs after the others. They were mailed. We'll see how things go. I love to hatch. It really is addicting Good luck to you all!

Yay, for you 2! I remember when I was waiting for those eggs to come in the mail. I had 4 shippments all together. So 4 times I had to wait patiently for them buggers to come. And I am NOT a patient person.

I'm trying to reduce my humidity. It was down to 65% early afternoon. I tried covering the water at the bottom. If anyone has more ideas, I'd like to hear them. Thanks.

Fordmommy surrogate here!!!!

The humididty in mine bouces around from 60% down to 21% (higher when I fill the sponges). As long as the air pocket keeps to a normal size I do not fret too much about the humidity. I worry more about the temp which hovers around 99-100. My first hatch was last spring and they were slightly early with the temp at this setting.....

Keep in mind the humidity in the atmosphere will also affect your eggs. Right now with all the snow melting our humidity will be on the high side....
