Yes, she'd be fine in a rabbit cage. Just make sure there's an area for her to get off and poo.

ETA: Assuming your weather is mild, or you have the rabbit cage sheltered from wind. (like in a garage)

I should of been more clear. I was talking aabout moving the nests and birds say to the garage or something like that. I used a daog crate myself. But my friend uses a Tidy Cat Litter pale with the cover that opens 3/4 of the way. Then she cuts off the bigger half and turns it on it's side and puts in bedding. Vahla! A nesting box. She sometimes takes metal wire fencinga and cuts it a tad bigger than the opening and bends in the sides to make a door that can slide up and down too. That way others can't get in and desturb her. But then you would have to left her out now and then for food and water and a strech if your chicken needs one. My broody did NOT get off the nest even once. I had to bring her food and water where she sat. Stinker. Anyway. I hope this idea might help you or at least give you ideas.

As long as the space is okay for her in a bunny cage for a week, I think that's where I"ll put her. We raise show bunnies and their pimped out barn is well insulated, heated, lights on timers, etc. (spoiled bunnies). I just didn't want her unhappy in such a small space. I'll give the broody old english hen a live egg to sit on, too so they both can be happy.

who'da thunk out of 3 hens, I'd have 2 broodies so soon?

Oh, definitely. I've got some clean, soft straw I use for the does when they kindle, so I'd just layer out the bottom of the cage with that, and freshen it up every evening. Thanks for the advice!

Get a second bator. Seriously! I'm doing a staggered hatch now, and it's horrendous. Never Again!!! Even if you have to go buy a $40 LG bator from TSC, do it. You go into it thinking it's not a bad idea, and that it'll work out somehow. The successful staggered hatches I've read about always use a seperate hatcher. I thought I knew better than everybody said, and I'm here to tell you, they were all correct. Of course this is just my opinion, and I certainly can't make you do anything, but you did ask, so speaking from experience now, I know I'll never ever again do staggered hatches in the same bator without a hatcher. Luckily my second bator full isn't staggered, thank goodness. Next time I won't be so greedy, and only order enough eggs for 1 bator, not two.

Everything quiet here. Baby doing fine and cute as ever. 4yr old named her "Chickie". It's better than me calling her "First Born".

I only have a few left from my 2/27 set, so I probably won't be hatching with you all!!! I do have 5 strong ones from 3/5 and put 8 BC Maran eggs in today that I got in the mail....so I'll be hatching soon.
I'm not sure whether I should just go out and buy an inexpensive LG or the like to use as a hatcher- as not to mess with the humidity of my other eggs- or see if I can get my first little incubator stable. I have an extra muffin fan......What say you all?

BTW- congrats on all the pipping!!!
