I set eggs 2/27/10 ** DUE 3/20th-3/21st** WE"RE HATCHING!!!!

Thank you Carriehelene for your input...can you tell me what kind of problems you are having? I'm looking at craigslist to see if there are any LG's or hovabators for hatching. Is one better than the other? If I can find one, we'll see.

Thanks again!

My Bantam Cochin eggs are finally coming next week! Too bad they won't be (hopefully) hatching until April.

Now I have to decide whether to move my duck eggs into my homemade 'bator for lock-down, or just go buy a cheap one at the feed store.

Well-I had to take baby away from mama today. I knew she would be a mean mama. She's fine with her under her, but as soon as she sees the baby, she pecks her. So now baby is in the house with us and later today I will bring home whomever is hatched and dry from the "saraget's" house.

Baby is in a tote here and I gave her a scarf I have that is super fuzzy. It feels almost like feathers. I had to make the sacrifice.

Last year, i got three baby Mallards (two Gray, one White). When the little runty White one died, the other two looked lonely, so I spent a good chunk of an entire day knitting this for them to snuggle with:

Boy, did my family think I was nuts!

It worked great for about a week (they slept curled up against the knitty's belly), until they started trying to preen it and pulled out some stuffing.

I totally get giving a super-fuzzy scarf to a chick that's going to poo on it. You're a good chickie-momma (unlike your hen, it seems).

Well- I got one more baby here. I went to Babylady4's today to see how things were progressing. We have 6 pips over there now. I brought home the baby that hatched last night. We named her "Chipmunk" after her mommy. She looks like one. It's cute. Should have more tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.
