I feel your pain, I got the still air LG and wasted several dozen eggs in it. For some reason even thou i kept the temp steady they wouldnt ever hatch. This is my first hatch with the genisis and my rates are alot better!!!

Hope that's the case with me. I have another set that I set on the 11th that I just moved over hopefully a few of them make it even though they started in the LG. I just set 2 dozen more today and they started fresh with the genisis.

What do you have your humidity set at? It sounds like they may have drowned when they broke the air sac.

I'm so sorry. Hopefully the Hovabator will do a better job

I would still keep the LG for hatching. I wish I had one on this hatch. I ended up doing a staggered hatch and had 17 out of 19 eggs hatch in the first round...now I just wait on the second batch. I'm just worried the high humidity during lockdown might have hurt the second batch. We'll see!

Woke up to one dead baby quail this morning.

It was kinda weak from the start.

Hopefully the other 2 will survive.

Otherwise, all is fine here.

I have yet another box of Bantam Cochin eggs on the way!

They should arrive on Friday!

So, the hatching schedule right now is:
- 4 mutt duck eggs from my flock due 3/30
- 8 Bantam Cochin eggs due 4/6
- 4 Welsh Harlequin Ducks due 4/18, and the new Bantam Cochins will be due around 4/17 - these will probably be in the hatcher together, and I'll carefully pull the chicks out in a steamed-up bathroom before the ducklings hatch and trample them.

Plus, I'm currently collecting eggs from my pair of Indian Runner ducks that will go in the 'bator around Wednesday or Thursday next week, and should be due around 4/27!

That means that I'm expecting a hatch nearly every week for the next 5 weeks!

PLUS, I have a duckling order in with Holderreads that's supposed to arrive the week of April 12th - which is the only week I'm not expecting a hatch (well, the Cochins should hatch on Saturday of that week or Sunday of the next...)

It's day 19 here & I'm SO impatient right now!!!!!!!! I did candle right before official lockdown yesterday (couldn't help myself) because I have had a rough first hatch. This little guy is #1 out of 14 that made it to day 18. My first batch of 9 all died due to temp instabilites & a self inflicted power outage. I forgot to plug the incubator back in after candling around day 6-7.

So this little guy is sole survivor of the second set.

I'm a bit concerned- I calibrated my hygrometer & it was fine pre-hatch, now there is condensation on the outside pane of my window. There is a temp difference in the room the 'bator is in: room=62-70 degrees w/ RH of 45-56, incubator temp=99.3-7 w RH of 60-68%... Could that be the reason for the condensation or should I be worried?

I SO don't want to drown the little dude if he's made it this far.

I think you are right about it being off. I would just keep an eye on it for now. Once he pips and starts unzipping, watch more carefully. Don't let him stay in there forever. I personally wouldn't let him go more than 12 hours. I would give him help. But that's me.
