do you happen to have a picture of the rabbit fence so i can see what you mean?I have two doors I open if they can free range. A small door at the front and a large door at the back where the rabbit fences are.
If a few/most hens are back inside again , i close the small front door. So no chickens escape unseen.
If I miss a few chickens I close both doors and make a tour around the house to see where the dumb chickens are hiding. In the meantime they often retuned while I was searching. If so I calmly walk to the back door and let them in. Again, the rabbit fences help so they won’t get scattered immediately.
Chickens are individuals. And maybe you have a pair that is difficult to train or something happened in the past why they don’t want to go in the run. (Trauma?)
Looks really good now!this is louise's beak healing progression. i took the last one just now

The old rabbit fence is to the right from the old tree/ sawn-off trunk.
The rabbit fence , how it looked like when it was new. It’s only 60 cm high.
I hope you have them the treat once they were where you needed them!i tried some of the tips you guys gave me today.
they were in the run after the door opened and given wet chick crumb after a little while. they ate none of it but ate some dry feed.
i kept them in the run all morning. i think i let them out around 1pm and they did all the chicken things they wanted to do.
i did not give them any treats. and they didn't even ask! (strange)
in the evening, i "chick chick click clicked" and brought the treat to the run. thelma came right in but louise decided to go into the big pot nearby. thelma was in the run very interested in the treat, so i walked over to the pot very calmly and said "c'mon, louise. it's time to go in." and i made like i was going to pick her up. lol! i wasn't going to really but she jumped out and almost went around the greenhouse but decided instead to just go in the run. closed the door and bob's your uncle and fanny's your aunt.
yesterday was similar in that she wouldn't come until i walked up behind her. she's testing me.
totally fine once everyone was in.
i'll keep doing this and maybe it will just happen eventually
thank you! i actually got to eat my dinner at a decent time and it was still hot![]()
