As predicted little peeps woke me up... Lol heard a little pecking sound then chirping .... Got up hoping for a hatch found another pip! Now that makes it 3. And the 1st pip has made some progress thankfully cant wait to meet the little guys...

None for me yet. They're not due til the 12th. My daddy used to say "a watched pot never boils." I feel like I'm watching my 'pot' alittle to closely. LOL

Ok, not only do we have peeping, we have a chick!!!!!

I have no idea what it is, because we got the eggs from a farmers market, but it came from a white shell, has feathered feet, and what looks like a huge comb. Hope it's not a boy!

At 4 in the morning our 1st egg (number 10) to pip hatched we have adorable light blue maybe lavendar silkie ... She was real weak at first but slowly getting stronger still a little wet and is now walking ... But mostly snuggly with the other eggs... Have 4 pips! I'll post pics soon just waiting for one or two more to hatch

Cochin? What color eggs do they have i dont know? Brahmas are brown i do know that but could be some mix of either i guess.AWWCute little girl/guy though

Lol hang in there.... Thinknonce the pipping start the waiting gets painful... At least for me it did, but now just worry bout the little one and even more egar for the others to hatch.

I swear i am so stress over this lockdown/hatch i could take valium if i had one.
Maybe an asprin will help the tension headache.HAHA I am looking at my temps and humidity ever 5 minutes and have 3 days to go!!.I will be a basket case by then.And talking (forum-ing) more than ever which is a whole WHOLE LOT!!! Nerves.

No....don't tell me that!!!! My son gave up on hatching silkies Last night, we had to get rid of 5 eggs that were either infertile (3) or early death (2) after 8 days. This was our third batch that we had ordered off of ebay. It seemed most were infertile. I left some of them in there up to 10 days thinking 'one day the light was not going to shine through'. Well, this morning he was still bummed. I had to break down and buy some chicks from Ideal for him. They will be here this week. He is exstatic!
