Hello everyone, please help me figure this out..

Goal is to cut a tree down to 12 foot/ 8 feet out or less with the existing tree limbs

Then fence around tree, and net above tree and outward

Connect the aviary netting to the 6 foot t post fence

How much square footage then would a 100x 100 aviary net cover..

Iam just not sure what size net to purchase ?

All advice sought

Anotherwords how to figure out once the net is up over the tree or place acme huge pole in the middle of the tree so the netting is above the tree..and out, then attach to the fence..how to figure out size of net needed?

Would 50x 100 work? Just don't have a clue?

Thanks everyone

Well, first we need to know what the footage is for all 4 sides.

(FOR EXAMPLE) If you make a 100'x100' pen then a 100'x100' netting will not work (you want some over hang and not to tight) so make the pen 95'x95' and roll up the rest around the top.

You do not want two halfs over your pen you want one to cover all.

Now, I'm no expert but this is how I have done it for 10 yrs, You may need to wait for one of the three experts that knows since I'm always wrong about these things.

100X100 is 10000 SQFT. Oops, forgot a 0

With that long a run you will only have a loss of 1' due to angle from 6' wall to 12' tree, not much to account for but keep in mind. As stated previous you'll want some over hang. The 95X95 area sounds good for a 100X100 net.

how many peacocks do you have. a 100x100 is a huge pen even 100x50 is big what you can do is build out your pen then take a string an hold on end on the fence an bring it up over the tree to the other side of the fence then mesure the string.

ya'll have me so confused.. if the tree.. gets topped off to 12 feet high and just take into consideration- 8 feet around in a circle..

How much space does that right their take up?????? as in netting??? lol.. maybe I should ask that way..hehehee

and yes, I dont want to have to do two nets together.. but one whole big one.. and start with the center of the net up and over the tree/or pole placed next to trunk of the tree.. so it then teepees down to however far.. I should place the t-poles

I have a run also that will open up to that area.. as well..

and right now.. I cant get my peahen out of the chicken coop.. LOL

she left her bldg.. and is in love with the coop..ehehhehehe

ohhhhhhhhhhhh okay.. it wasnt so much the pen... I was freaking on how much netting is used.. up and over the tree.. tree being topped off 12-16 feet high.. I think right now the tree is 30 feet high.. and 20 feet out on all sides.. I am not netting that bad boy.. but my tree cutting friend.. said, we can top off the tree.... shorten all limbs.. and whammo you will have one fine.. place for your two peafoul.. yep.. I have two.. okay I have one right now.. but hopefully the boy is coming later this week

thanks for the idea..
xoxo

Carol, also keep in mind if the tree is still alive you will need make it a bit higher because the tree will still grow and you will have to trim new limbs before they grow into your net.
