I promise not to make a vow to not buy more chicks...

as I am planning to buy Sebrights,
geese,
more ducks,
a few more laying hens,

an whatever looks good at the farmers market tomorrow,

thank god there is no cure ...

chicks are tooo cute ... how can you cure cuteness?

but we should all stick together an vow to buy out the feed stores chicks...

gotta help the next man make money then he will hatch more chics to buy later ....

I have made myself stay away from the feed store - I send my husband when we need to get feed.

They had 4 bins of chicks/ducks the last time I went, and I just purchased 10 from a friend of a friend. I guess I'm not too badly addicted yet, of course we also have 5 llamas (plus 2 foster llamas), 3 goats, 3 dogs, and 5 cats to feed so that helps keep me in line.

These ten are my first chickens, so maybe it's an addiction that builds over time. But I can definitely understand your problem - those baby chicks are soooo cute!!!

lol, My name is Rachel, and I am an addict. so do you think my DH was serious when he said "this is the last coop I am building"? Thank goodness I do'nt have an incubator (besides my broody hens, they do better than I could anyway)
oh, and TSC has a cruel trick to get me to buy chicks...by having a poultry seminar tonight.....how many will I come home with?

My name is Mary, and I'm a chickaholic. I only have 2 roosters and 10 hens (from last year) 38 chicks in the basement( 21 are supposed to go to my daughter as her hens are old and not laying well,) my DH was really worried when I told him how many were coming, of course her DH doesn't want to take them home till they get bigger as it is to cold for them to be outside. I think my daughter is a bit concerned, she calls every day and asks how HER chicks are, must be she doesn't want me to get too attached. ( I don't know why she would think a thing like that?.
