This is Betsy, an Ameraucana hatched September 28th and was sexed by Meyer as a pullet (so just shy of 18 weeks in these pics)

This morning, she was sitting on the roost watching one of the older girls lay. I'm not sure if she was cheering Karen on trying to sing or trying to crow but it sure didn't sound like any egg song I've ever heard before. I have no roosters and can't have any so I am really hoping it was just a bad egg song. What do you think?

Don't mind the poop, the babies sleep on a lower roost and sometimes the big girls like to poop on them for funsies 🤪

Thank you!!! She is such a sweetheart it would have broken my heart to give her away. I hope her song gets a little better before it's time to start laying or she's going to give me a panic attack every morning. 😂

I can relate. My littlest chicken runs out of the run every morning and screming her egg song at the top of her little lungs. First time she did it she scared me half to death. Thought she was being eaten or something.
