I do believe Blackie is a Black Star but I'm not sure. She lays brown eggs and has bright yellow toe tips under her feet! [IMG] Here's a picture of her:

Very pretty hen. I'm afraid I don't know the answer.

Hard to tell in the pic, but if she has red/gold on her neck and or chest, I would say yes. If she is solid black, then she's and austrolorp.

I have 3 black stars. Your bird looks like one of mine named Robin because of her red breast.
One of the others has only a wee bit of red on her throat; almost all black.( lil' crow)
The third one I thought was an EE put in with the black stars because her whole head and neck is barred gold, black and rust.(esther)
But I have seen a black star pic of the week that looked exactly like her.
So there is a lot of variety in the black stars.

I think she could most definitely be a Black Star/Black Sex Link.

Quote:Absolutely! Half my egg carton right now is from my BSL Noisette. She and Clotilde are the only ones laying right now (everyone else is either molting/too young/too old), and Nutty's are huge and super nice. [IMG]
