He only does this when is am low to the ground, but when I'm picking weeds or squatting down for some reason, my 6 mo old, I think gander, will get very close, kind of frantically rubbing his head and neck all over me, nipping softly everywhere. He tries to 'climb' me. At this time only, he will let me pet him all over (it's great for that). Does this sound like I'm his woman?? Why me, geez, now I'm wondering if the other goose is a goose or gander... I've never seen them do anything, if you know what I mean.

Hello
Yes, it does seem as if that's what he's doing. I happened to have a gander like this many years ago. He would do the same thing, even though I'm most certainly not female.

I just showed him who's boss and that was that. grab him by his neck and place the overeager chap somewhere away from you. Or try your own method. Heavens know I'm not a expert on the subject. It only happened once!

Yep, you are getting the "moves" from your gander

I made the mistake of sitting on the ground on a rare dry day to visit with the geese last spring. Petey Peters walked around and around me, and finally climbed up on my upper back. I had no idea what he was doing, I've never had a goose CLIMB on me before. He grabbed a hank of my hair and went to town. I realized what was happening and committed coitus interruptus. I was embarrassed, what if the neighbor's saw? They already think I'm nuts.

My goose does that during nesting season. And she's definately a "she" -- 40 eggs a year for the last few years! I think she thinks I'm the gander, and gets a bit frustrated with me when I won't... err... well. You know.
Frustrating for her, but it's the only time of year I get to pat her, and she is lovely to pat.
This is us during nesting season a few years ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDjRr5VQfy0

I suggest you politely explain to them that you don't date outside your own species and let them down easy.

HA!

They're just doing what nature tells them to, don't be embarassed....they aren't. Just redirect their attention to treats or pick them up and take them over to a goose of the opposite sex and introduce them. Back away slowly.

I think this goose has lost his little mind, I took him swimming as usual but I couldn't keep him off of me... the day before that, I was pulling weeds and he ended up on my head!~ I would have loved to have seen that from an outsiders view. But, the good thing is that I can pet him a whole lot, anywhere... that's the great part, but he is getting a little aggressive and his nails hurt. He is flogging me with his wings. I personally take it as a compliment!
