Well I finally decided to name him Gus. Gus and Gurty sound good together. However my SO is calling him Mud puppy now. OH LORD..... Miss Gurtrude is still whipping up on poor Gus and she is smaller than him.

I had needed some similar help awhile back about a dogs name. This poor dog will be 2 years old on the 18th of November and he is still being called by two different names still today. Here is a link to his story.

A funny story about when I had gotton the whippet. Someone through him out and I took him in. He was on the thin side so I had thought all kinds of bad things about the person that had dumped him. I wormed the dog and feed him good but it was apparent the dog was not going to gain any weight or fill out so I took him to see my vet and stated my concerns only to be laughed at by my vet. He said the dog was a whippet, minature greyhound and was not going to fill out like my other dogs. lol

Well....... I had never heard of a whippet, much less seen one. All that worrying for nothing. At least I found out the dog was healthy and that is always good not knowing its past history. I still laugh at myself over that one.

Oh lordy, the more my SO calls this puppy Mud puppy the more I try and call him Gus. This poor puppy just looks at me like "ARFF."

Please don't let Mud puppy stick.

if you dont know about whippets or greyhounds they steal your hearts by looking pathetic and then you find out no matter how much you feed them they will always look that way. lol my poor hubby got the wool pulled over his eyes by out whippet mix she jumped on our front porch in the rain looked abandoned so he fed her and decided to keep her. her owner showed up said keep her my older dogs dont like her. she is so sweet we said ok and have had the most wonderful dog though slightly an airhead about chasing anything that movews i mean honestly what dog takes the time to notice ants?

I used to have a dog named Petey that died a few years back. If it hadn't been for that Petey would be his name especially since he has the eye color thing going on just like the little rascals dog. All you guys have come up with some awesome names. I will keep them in mind because I know there will be other dogs that I will adopt in the future. Its just so hard nameing animals when you have as many as I do and have had in the past. O.K. I am admitting to the world right now that I have a problem with taking in strays. Hey there is worse things in the world to be addicted to, right.
