What do you mean raise money for the removal. Hand planes, cheese grater, beltsanders, skinning knives, they don't cost no big bunch of money.
Some of you guys need to calm down. Obviously tattoo pro and con are both represented here. Also obviously, you guys can guess where my opinion lays.
It all comes down to one thing, you want a tattoo, by all means it is your right to get one. It's not even my place to give any advice regarding a tattoo. But being a little older, won't say wiser, because I never learned anything the easy way. Got scars, a few broken bones, and missing body parts to prove it. Anyway, please understand that the world is populated with people who can and will judge you on you appearance. May not be fair, but it's the only world we got.
Reputable tattoo artist will not do names? Come on, reputable Drs won't prescribe unneeded pain meds either. Reputable plumbers, reputable carpenters, the list could go on and on. Bottom line is if that young man would have wanted the name on his cheek, he would have looked until he found a guy to do it.
Still I wonder if a young lady or gentleman ever thinks about what a tattoo will look like when they are no longer young. You know they get the nice little green apple tat on a booty cheek, then 20 years 3 kids later it appears to be a smeared faded watermelon with a bite taken out of it. Or-- What happens 10 years from now when tats may not be the going fad.
Expressions of commitment, to family, loved ones, the departed, I don't need ink on my body to keep a family member in my heart. The expression of love is also mine, it's private, I don't need to have it written somewhere to prove it.
The true test of a tattoo is 20 years down the road, and can any of us know for sure where we are going to be. Are you absolutely sure a tattoo will fit in 20-10 or even 5 years.
What about your child? "Ike the OP in this thread. I am sure she considers herself open minded, aware of the times and such. But it's her child, the perfect vision of life in her eyes. He didn't need decoration, in her eye he was perfect.
