Quote: That's a rather offensive thing to say on a family forum, you are greatly entitled to your opinion, but to so bluntly call some who has tattoos white trash and a tramp is just plain rude. There are many many on this forum with tattoos and piercings alike, and they are good honest people... Simply state you dont like nor approve of tattoos, leave the name calling out.
The term "tramp stamp" was used earlier in the thread by another poster, why single out only one reply.
Tattoos, when I was a kid, teenager, youngman, they were only seen on carnival workers, servicemen and the like. Shoot I bet if I came home with a tattoo my momma would have remove it herself with a beltsander.
I often wonder exactly what kids think they are doing when they make pictures on themselves. I see young women and men with tattoos up and down their arms, neck, back, and feet. Some surely can be covered by clothing so they can maintain a professional appearance when needed. But the ones on the hands, high up on the neck, it's there for every one to see. Unfortunately we live in a world that relies on eyesight to make judgements, and the first impression is the lasting one.
Now truly who among you ladies would go to an OB/GYN with an 8 ball tattoed on the back of one hand, a skull and crossbones on the other. Who among us would use a lawyer with chinaman tatto just below his left ear or a lightning bolt on his forehead.
You put a tattoo on and put it out there for everyone to see. Don't be suprised if some people use the appearance of that "art work" to make a judgement concerning the owner.
The suggestion has been made for the OP to make an apt at the laser removal store in six months. Just why should she be responsible for the removal of a tattoo that she did not approve of in the first place. The kid is 18, old enough to vote, he's old enough to take care of his own mistakes.
Funny story. Sitting in the Dr's office Monday, a young lady walks in wearing shorts, flipflops, and tank top. She is tattooed from top to bottom, dozens of tattoos. She sits down gets on the cell phone and proceeds to tell her friend that she is at the Dr's but she is not going to put up with having to get an injection, because get this ------- SHE'S SCARED OF NEEDLES--------
*raises hand*...hellllooo white trash speaking (glaring and rolling her eyes at such a stupid comment)
ANYYYYYYYWAYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSS
Deb - oh my...
You know, what can you do? Kids - cant beat 'em..cant lock 'em up for life... cant tell 'em how stupid they are - he will learn this on his own... very very shortly I'm afraid.
to you hun... hang in there
*puts the piece of straw back in her mouth, hikes up her Daisy Dukes and 6 inch heels with a baby on each hip as she walks out the door*

well since I am white trash I will lower my self to your level and respond to this..
I am a nurse so therefore an educated women, and I have been married for 13 years to the same man, so I hardly think that I fall in to the category of white trash! When I go into work tonight I will let my co-worker know who has a tattoo of her childs foot print along with his date of birth and date of death which are one day apart, I will let her know that she is now considered as white trash!
and deb....I am sorry that your son has decided to brand his body like that but my bigger concern would be the place where he got the tat done... NO self respecting tattoo artist will tattoo a girlfriends name on the boyfriend. Its kinda like an unwritten code, no names unless its mom or kids.. XOXOXOX hold on there deb...it will be gone in no time ...or he will ask you for make up tips to cover it up

Gee Wiz, where i'm at, if you get or have a tatoo you are white trash! At work when the subject comes up, watch out. The girls that get the tatoos on their lower backs are considered LOOSE < to put it nicely. They call them tramp stamps. Some places its considered cool and in other places you are written off.
I think people need to slow down before assuming ~ I certainly didn't take this as the posters opinion, but rather the mindset of the people where she is from.
