I Think I Discovered Something Most Of You Probably Already Knew

I went out and tried to scoot my RSL/mix off the nest, to gather the 3 eggs that other hens had laid... and she was SUPER mad at me, and tried to bite me... I grabbed the eggs quick, and then felt bad, since she laid her egg about 4 seconds after I took the others... poor girl, wasn't being a crab, was just IN THE PROCESS of laying.

I wait until as late in the afternoon as possible to be sure they have all layed. That way non are disturbed, and eggs in the nest will encourage others to lay during the day.

I'd wait if I could! My dog will beat me to it, and I won't get any eggs! but her coat is so smooth and shiny!
