I'd suggest digging a shallow pool in front of the door to the coop, fill it with water, then hook up some live electric fence wire...the police can follow the poop-trail to his house.

You could also lay some tarred paper down(I suspect it is happening at night).

ALl joking aside( sort of), I definitely think the camera is a great idea...unless he's a member of BYC. You might try and find a way to get a look at HIS flock...see if any of yours are there. In the meantime, I would suggest making a police report of your missing chickens...and try and be as specific as possible as to dates, and how many chickens are missing. The police SHOULD take a report, as your flock is livestock, and a means by which you feed your family and make a living. You might also see about putting some sort of mark on your chickens...maybe on the bottoms of their feet(if this is happening a lot). You can also try putting a padlock on the coop door.

you know what tho...I have children and I am home alone a lot of nights cause DH's hours so maybe in a few months the slime bag will want more then just chickens...ya never know these days I know its jumping the gun a weeee bit...lol but there is no more big dog and o loo there is not the big truck in the driveway....

I really hope that someone needed them more then I do to feed thier family fresh eggs... but they will be waiting a long time for eggs from the silkies they were roos.... but I have a Dharma but no greg and she looks for him....

You can also get fake cameras that look VERY real or just cameras that don't work anymore or are not hooked up in a obvious spot they will never know. My brother had one I don't know where it went.
