I know what you mean. We are adopting an Aussie shepherd mix. I had not planed on getting a dog yet, but my my wife said the one thing that could change my mind when she found the add online (my fist reaction was NO). She reminded me that I sometimes go out of town for weeks at a time, and she would feel better with a dog way out here in the country. She doesn't pull that kind of card unless she means it BTW. When she does things like that I pay attention in a real hurry. I AM looking forward to the dog though I must admit!

I think this is an excellent idea. If you catch him, this would be further evidence that a Silkie in his possession is yours. Good luck. Keep us posted with what happens.

I need to put GPS tracking dots in my chickens... lo-jack for poultry...

I had someone breaking into my apartment when I lived in Florida usually it was when I was away (or so I thought). After I got my corgi one night at 3 in the morning she started nuzzling my face I heard a noise in the kitchen and she unleashed the most unholy barking that scared me out of my skin. Who ever it was made a huge mess getting out of that apartment and as fast as he/she could. Dogs are good to have around as alarms if nothing else.
