Ok so I am gonna be putting my chicks out at 5 weeks, I would keep them in longer but I will be on vacation (I will have someone taking car of them). So heres the problem.... Once the chicks go out thier brooder temp will be around 75 degrees, but once they go outside thetemps will be HIGH! It is during June. The night can go from 60-85 degrees, and at daytime it can go from 70-100 degrees! Am I in trouble? What do I need to do to make it better for them on thier first months outside?
Thanks in advance!

I am slightly confused & tired. You vacation is in June? If so you should be fine, as long as they are feathered they will be able to keep themselfs cool during the day as long as they have fresh water. As for at night, if it is needed give them a light but enough room that they can move away from it if it isn't needed. How old will your chicks be when they go out??

If they have lots of shade and fresh water, they should be fine.

Make sure they have SHADE - - - I just had to move my chicks under a tree canopy to stop them from overheating.

Make sure whoever is taking care of them understands how VERY VERY VERY important it is that they get FRESH water everyday. They will stop drinking the water if it gets too warm - - - so make sure the water is in the shade too.

Ok so here is how I think I will get set the coop up! Possibly a fan, I know for sure there will be a fan in the summer when I get back! And the And hopefuloly the whole coop and run will be in the shade. Also when the person come to take care I will ask him to put some ice in the water. Does this sound good?
