will this pasty butt ever go away or do i have to keep soaking him in water?
argh.

It can take a while. Once I started soaking and putting olive oil on it took a week. I also gave my chick some plain yogurt to help.

I agree with 3LilBirds... it can take about a week (maybe more) to get the tiny one's bum back to normal. But it will be fine- just make sure the vent isn't blocked. Chicks that are super tiny & extra feathery have a tendency to get the pasty butt! The chick is going to scream when you clean it, but just be gentle- you're helping it- not hurting it. Nobody likes to have their butt inspected too close!
