I think I have to buy this

I lived close enough to work for a few years to ride my bike
every day. It was a wonderful experience and good excercise.
I have a Cannondale and a Trek hybrid for my wife. I need to
use the bike more often. Buff you may enjoy my 18' Kevlar kayak.

Now for the Harley comments.

I'd love a Harley but would not settle on a Sportster. Even Harley
riders look down on them (sorry, not meaning to insult Sportsters).

For $9000 I can get a reliable 1100cc reliable Yamaha brand new.

Someday I'll get a Softail or FatBoy.

Purp, I already have a kayak, but it's definitely not Kevlar. It's heavy as all get-out, and I scratched my car something bad lifting it on the car roof by myself a few weeks ago.

Is a Kevlar kayak lighter?

I must admit, Harleys do have a good racket going. They manage to keep their market value by never improving their engines. Every year companies like Honda put out new improvements and adjustments, which means, of course, the market value will go down, but it also means you can get quality, affordable bikes whose engines aren't relics from the stone age. Plus a warranty on a Harley is only good if you take it to a Harley shop. Tinker with it yourself or, heaven forbid, take it to a place that won't be booked until next year like the Harley shops always are, your warranty is lost forever. My SO's 2003 VTX 1800c cost him $9,000 in 2003, and his bike leaves Harley's in the dust (tested and proven time and time again

) Plus, with all the money he saved he can go out and get him oodles of biker goodies.

If you want a Harley, go for it. Just know you're paying for a brand name, not the bike itself

I think it looks great!

Warm summer days and sunny fall afternoons are calling to your sense of adventure! Wear a helmet (even if your state doesn't make you...that's another rant of mine entirely) and have a lot of fun!!

You dont have to improve perfection. harleys are made to be enjoyed for a long time . We have to HD dealers within a 15 reach so there are no issues.

sure if you want a rice burner that sounds like a lawn mower

PC you can change out the pipes. My husband has the Road Star Warrior and it is completely tricked out and looks bad a**. However if you have any back issues you might consider a full dresser Harley. With back issues my dh is selling and investing in the comfort of the Harley...no point in a bike you can't ride.

Mmm hmm . . . which is why no Harley can beat ours in speed, noise, or quality. But then, what else does a Harley man have other than his convictions? I wouldn't want to rob you of those
