I'm lovin it.
Hi, The deal is, it is advised not to open the incubator after you lock down.
It can cause shrink wrap.....

Hope all is going well.........
I candle at 10 days and 18.just before lock down.
If others do it differently, thats fine.
I can only share what works for me.

Hope I didnt screw myself... Or the eggs..

oh, Sorry about the eggs...................

For what it is worth.........I lost eggs also and found for me
it took a bit to get things down, a learning curve.
One thing that helped me is a lady suggested setting eggs for staggered hatches a week apart,
It makes it super simple to keep dates straight and gives time for a hatch before you have to open the
bator for the next lock down.......
Don't be to hard on yourself......for some of us, hatching is not as easy as it sounds......

That is so true but I don't understand the other eggs are fine the ones due next week still have life
Do you think the bator getting unplugged for a couple of hours did something? But I think the humidity was too high but idk

The temp dropping, unless it was way down for a long time, should have only caused a little later hatch at worst.................
If you think about it.the hen gets off the nest to eat ect. and it does not hurt the eggs..........
Mine get off for quite awhile sometimes.
Of course , I don't know for sure.but I would guess the humidity may have caused shrink wrap.
There are just so many things that can go wrong that have nothing to do with us........
It does not take long for this to happen if they are on lockdown.
Goodness knows, I've done that one myself and been heart sick.
I know Rebel has much more experience than I do. Maybe he will check back in.
Do you have another incubator?
I have two...one for the first 18 days and the other for lockdown and hatching..............
Some folks make a hatcher.but I don't know how....
There is information here though............
By having the courage to write in with your problem.I think you did everything right.....

Good luck
