We have eight turkeys the kids are raising for 4H to take to fair in August. We've never seen them strut or anything close to it. I just figured we had all hens. Well tonight we heard one of them gobbling. Just the Toms gobble, right?

Here's a pic of some of our birds

The wattle? Do the carunkles change color on he hens and toms?

It's hard to tell on the two white ones in the middle and I can't see one of the black ones in the back very well but the two in front and one of the blacks in back are definitely Toms.

Cool! But they still all look the same to me

No gobbling lately - just a lot of chirping. Crazy birds

OK, then the red heds, with the chin thing drooping down qualifies them as toms? just to recap what was said....
I will have to post a photo of mine now that they are getting older. the heads are really red, but only at times...or maybe it is the light. oh well. they taste the same or different?
