Yay! 7 more cute babies Mmmaddie!! I tried logging into the hatch-cam a couple times but I ended up distracted waiting for the ad to end and the live cam to start (I'm having a really hard time staying in one spot for very long these days, lol... crazy busy time of year for me; collecting eggs, setting eggs, hatching, brooder cleaning, feeding atering etc non-stop, lol).
Your dark keet looks like a Pied Pearl Grey to me... it just has blended down. I'm still unclear why some keets hatch with blended down and some don't, but it's fairly common and they are usually Pied to some degree. I hatch lots of Pied blended down keets, in many colors (all fully-pearled colors). So your little guy should feather out like a normal Pied Pearl Grey keet in the next couple of weeks, and once the head fuzz is all gone around 8-10 wks you won't be able to tell he was ever any different than the others... tho some of my blended down keets mature to have pearling all the way up the neck, instead of the normal solid color bib.
Anyway, Congrats!
I'm pitifully behind on taking and posting pics of my recent keet hatches... I think I've missed taking pics of the last 2 batches and I've sold most of them already, lol.
So many baby birds, so little time,
lol.
