I Think It Is A Duck!! NEW PICS

Still nothing!! The egg is a cream color. As for the "water thing"...I heard about it on this forum. Hope it is safe. Didn't question it since this is where I heard of it. I guess time will tell.

NOW WHAT? Today is day 31 and no signs of hatching. I put him in the water again and he kicked so he is alive. The egg is so dark there is no need to candle to check for life so that is why I did the water. Will this hurt him?
I put him in lockdown on day 25...will this hurt him? I am so confused!! His color is cream colored...no blue tint at all. I think it is too small to be a goose egg.

I was hoping to hear that. Will it hurt for him to be in lockdown with no turning and higher humidity?

Um, it won't hurt IF the egg isn't externally pipped. If it has pipped through the shell, you can drown the poor thing by doing this. ONLY do this test with eggs that haven't yet externally pipped.

He hasn't pipped at all. Just wondering how much longer it might take. I always second guess myself and want so badly for him to survive since his circumstances are so weird!! Don't even know who or what laid him in that ditch!!

If today is day 31 and some ducks hatch at 35, I'd say "try" to be patient and wait it out.

Find out what the humidity for a duck egg should be, set it for that and let it finish growing.

I've heard (read) that if the temp was off it might take longer then the normal amount of days.

Good Luck!!!!

I love your proverbs. I am not known for my patience. I simply don't want to be doing something wrond and cause it to die. Thanks for the advice and I will try.

Oh completely understand...........I get excited over things, but then I need to check myself so I don't do anything stupid out of my excitement..........(ok, I admit, it is more impatient then excitement most times

I also know how truly disappointed I would be in myself if I did any harm because of my impatience....

Good Luck!
