I think most my EE “pullets” from TSC are cockerels… plus some. Pic heavy

They are standard. I don’t think most hatcheries sell bantam Phoenix.

The two younger girls in the third pic (in front of the first GLW) are significantly smaller than the older girls but are only 2 weeks or so younger. I bought them out of the mix bantam bin at the same time as the OEG cockerel and the three silkies (all same tub). I can try to get better pictures of them later. Do you think they are probably Dutch bantams then?

They are some sort of bantam for sure but Hoover’s doesn’t carry Dutch bantams

I’ll need closer pictures to determine that.

TSC doesn’t only get chicks from Hoover’s.

Alright, here’s my two bantam girls, Vanilla and Coffee.

I called the TSC I got them from and they said they get chicks from Hoovers and Townline. The only blue, clean legged bantams I found on their sites were seabrights which don’t seem to match these ladies but I’m certainly a newbie. I am not convinced the employees know everything. I called the other TSC I got the Phoenix from and they said the same hatcheries plus maybe a few others. Neither mentioned hatcheries carry Phoenixes either.

Yeah, those are Dutch bantams.
I’ve stopped trusting hatchery websites. There’s breeds they don’t list that still pop up at feedstores.

They mostly do though don’t they? What other hatcheries do they use? Do any of those others carry that breed? Isnt it kind of rare? Doubt it would be in a random cheap assortment bin. Chicks can also change a lot as they grow and look completely different as adults.

I do not know every hatchery that TSC uses. Though I believe they also use cackle and welp. Welp carries Dutch bantams. Though Dutches are certainly less common than OEGBs, they are not at all rare. I’ve seen a lot of people on this forum with Dutch bantams they’ve gotten from hatcheries/feedstores.

Huh, that makes sense. I never really hear of them very much I guess. Doesn’t OEGB come in similar colors too?
