I got these chickens as babies from our local nursery, and they are now 6 months old. This girl looks nothing like the group (one Polish, one RIR, two bantam Brahmas, two bantam Andalusians)...I wonder if she got mixed up at the store. She's tall and lanky; my kids call her Ostrich. She is smart, bold, and very sweet. Any ideas?

Do jungle fowl get along well with chickens? I want one too!

Don't know much about them, but had talked to someone at a farm show who raised them. I think you can have one in a flock but they will fight each other. He said that sometimes people who wanted a really protective flock rooster but didn't want to raise eggs from their hens would get a rooster to protect their flock.
I don't think the hens lay many eggs.

Oh wonderful! I looked them up and I believe she is exactly that. She is so friendly and very intelligent, and gets along extremely well with my other birds (sounds like I lucked out in getting only one!). I did get my chickens for egg-laying, but I don't care if she's not a good layer, she's actually kind of like a dog with feathers :D

Not too mention the luck, if she is a pullet not cock. Have to Wonder about mixing those genes with your bantams. Because of her size difference I would name her Alice as in "Alice the Goon" from Popeye.
