I think my chickens are stupid

Livestock really don't care about rain as much as we do. My horses stand out in storms all the time. They often prefer it to being in a building. Especially if it has any metal or little insulation so the rain is loud. Some animals even seem to be programmed to go stand in the open when there's certain weather. It's hard to tell why.

huh..really..the polish was the only one to come in out of the rain??..he was the smart one?...

Where did I find the silkies having a blast in the rain today? In the low spot in the yard, wondering why their feet were sinking into the ground while covered in mud and wetter than a soaked mop. Perhaps they like the rain for one reason though, they can see the big wide world when their crests are soaked though.

I've got 3 standards and a banty cochin, who I think is small even for a bantam cochin!

When it rains (another Washingtonian here!), my standards don't seem to mind. Of course, they're got long legs with no feathers on them. The cochin, however, follows the drier areas along the buildings and under bushes, looking miserable. She gets cold from being wet.

DBF says that if chooks could give us the finger, she'd be doing so any time I let them FR in the wet.

Then the humidity is 200% after, I am not fond of the sometimes cold weather here in the winter, but the humidity is much kinder here.
I hated Fl for the humidity.
