I think my Dake Runner is sick???

I know males are naturally quiet but he tonight is realllllly quiet.. Kinda like as if a duck could whisper hes doing it!!! I have a odd feeling hes sick somehow! Does anyone have ideas? He ran behind some boxes and hid on me which is out of the norm for him.. Any help wold be greatly appreciated!

I assume he's housed outside if so its possible hes had a close encounter with a predator all mine act very strange when something spooks them they even hide from me and remain quiet which is weird for my hens. If possible tighten up on security and check his home for weak spots if it was a predator that spooked him it will be back they are very faithful when they think they have a meal.

I would nab him and get him into a lukewarm tub. I write that suggestion often, because it gives you a chance to focus on the drake and see how he's moving. It helps him relax a little bit and takes weight off of legs and feet, if those are bothering him.

Then you can check his eyes, nares, listen to his breathing, detect any odd odors, and so forth.

Alright.. I was told as a precaution to add DE in their feed for possible bug issue.. I have and since then he hasnt made that awkward sound. So I have added the DE to the feed, bedding, pen and any close areas.... and I will continue to add this for the next few days... I paniced >.< Thanks for your ideas.. If it occurs again I will do the above!!!!
