I think my hen has gone broodie

I went out there this morning and my silkie hen was sitting in the nest just sitting there She made an growling noise when I pet her. I don't think that her egg is fertal. Is there an way to make her snap out of it? Iam an newbie. Just checked she dosen't have an egg!

My silkie just went through this. You'll find many suggestions but what worked for me was I locked her out of the coop (so she was in the run) for a period of a couple days. I did this more than once (stubborn little thing!) and then she was fine. You have to go with what works.

Thanks I just checked she dosen't have an egg! Is she just waiting to lay one. It usually takes her a while. Its only been about 2 weeks from getting eggs from her!
