I think my pullet is a roo

so I just got into chickens and I’m pretty sure this rookie got taken! My 4 year old son wants a white chicken that lays green eggs. They exist, they’re called Snowy Easter Eggers and My Pet chicken carries them but I am not paying that much money for 1 chicken. I found someone selling Easter eggers and I noticed one was white. I told the lady I was looking for a pullet and she told me she was pretty confident that the chick was a pullet. “She” is 4 weeks old and is supposedly a leghorn Easter Egger cross. As I said I’m new to chickens and just out my big girls outside in the coop/pen today for the first time. Anyways...what do you all think? Pullet or roo? :fl

Ok, not what I wanted to hear. Any chance it’s a pullet? If it’s a roo I will have to rehome him and break it to my 4 year old that Snowy has to find a new home :barnie I turned off the heat lamp and took some more photos...I can’t really handle “her” as she is wild and flys and runs around and takes home. She got loose in my house when I first brought her home earlier this week and was showing her to my son. Took me forever to catch her :he

Yeah, that's DEFINITELY a cockerel. :(

So I just thought of something...if Snowy is a roo and he keeps getting into it with 1 other chick....does that mean that other chick he keeps getting into it is ALSO a roo? The other chick is a glw....I’ve separated them to stop the squabbling....I don’t have a pick of the other chick but she looks like all of my other glw....

Not necessarily. Chicks this age are experimenting with pecking order and do a lot of charging/flaring/staring down.

But, I am a bit concerned when a newbie may have been rooster dumped. When did you get the chicks? We're they tiny puffs or a week ago or ???

I got Snowy this past week and “she”
Was 4 weeks old according to the lady I got her from. My other chicks I got 3 weeks ago right after they hatched. 6 glw from TSC (pulleys) and 3 blrw chicks (straight run) from a breeder. I was HOPING for a blrw roo out of my chicks from the breeder as I’d like to breed my blrw....but I was NOT looking for a roo with this white chick, I just wanted to get my son what he asked for :hit

There is no way that comb developed that much in a week. Well, I'm glad you only got one from her, I was worried they might all be cockerels if they all came from the same place (it's happened to others...)

I was so excited to have found a chick that my son wants....super sad that someone would take advantage of a person like that. I even told her it was for my 4 year old son!

I’ve learned a valuable lesson and will definitely do better and more research before buying a chick from someone going forward. Thank you for your help! Now to break the news to my son and try to sell a rooster!
