PUT A ADD AT THE FARM STORE WHERE U BUY FEED.

look into fowl auctions.

Eat them down to where u only have a few -not so many-I know it can be overwhelming!
So now I just have a few of the bigger ones. it's worth it to keep them just for your self.

I grew up with wild Valley Quail coming through our yard
and loved to hear their call
and the little top feather thing.
My Sister in Selah WA is feeding some (wild ones) on her back porch
Maybe that's the breed I will get.

I have Texas A&M from mamawolf and she told me to wait until they are 12 weeks old to process for the heaviest weight. They should weigh anywhere from 10-14 oz.

I have several people wanting to buy quail from me. You might try selling pickled quail eggs, I also have several people wanting those too.

You might advertise in your local newspaper or the Shopper if you have one of those. One of our local radio stations let everyone advertise stuff for sale for free.

Hope you find a good way to sell them.

My Quail started laying at 4 weeks old. I have about 7 out of 12 hens laying now at 5 weeks old.

How many hens do you keep for egg laying?
Do you sell the pickled eggs to locals or online?
I have never weighed mine.
I butchered at 7 or 8 weeks, will wait a couple more weeks to see if they get any larger.

I have 12 right now, but at 12 weeks of age, I will only keep the heaviest. I want to get it to where they are at least 14 oz. I am going to get a scale and build a small wire cage to put them in so that I can weigh them.

I'll build my flock up bigger as I get more spacing available.

But, I am sure that if you let them mature a few more weeks, you will be more pleased them.

I only have 6 right now. I got 2 females out of those 6 and have them in with one roo, and nothing yet. I guess I need to change their feed to higher protein. They are inside the house with extra light and should be laying. It HAS to be the feed. They're 10 weeks old now. Thanks for the tips! I'll be trying this out, and if no eggs then...they're going to be eaten.

Would love to know who you bought the quail feeders from. I have tried several different kinds. I feed mine Gamebird 28%. That's the highest percentage I could find and our stores do not sell Turkey starter.

I am only going to put 3 hens to one roo or 5 hens to 2 roo's.
