I took the advise from BYC members.
Had 5 or 6 hens to 1 roo, per pen.
feed 30% game bird feeder in the quail feeders that I got from a BYC member, NO WASTE.
turned on the lights (small christmas lights)
I have them in hanging rabbit cages in a large building, with tarps under them.
Each pen has an plastic oil pan with dirt in it.
I got the push in nipple waterers to put in gallon milk jugs, hanging from cage. Will last a few days.
The cold does affect the laying and fertity of quail, But I'm in Florida. Up untill this week. not bad.
I only have 6 right now. I got 2 females out of those 6 and have them in with one roo, and nothing yet. I guess I need to change their feed to higher protein. They are inside the house with extra light and should be laying. It HAS to be the feed. They're 10 weeks old now. Thanks for the tips! I'll be trying this out, and if no eggs then...they're going to be eaten.
