That's why I think he has a bit'o bantam brahma, or the like, mixed in with his predominantly Cochin body

His comb looks more like a rose comb than a pea comb.

Its kinda both, it has 3 rows, albeighit a bit lumpy 3 rows and comes back to a point. It looks like a "swollen" and lumpy version of our LF light brahma's comb.

He's got a modified Rose comb. Most likely from some Wyandotte in his background.

Happened upon him and a clutch mate, that's also a rooster, a the monthly swap about 1.5 years ago.

I can' wait until the plumage on his feet grows back out to where it was before, much like his progeny's is. He got his all muddy and broke quite a few off getting in and out of the tree

That one is rose combed as well. Wyandotte bantams are commonly used to round out the tail in Cochin bantams "when better Cochin stock is not available".

Idk why I didn' think wyandotte, I thought that they maybe had been breed from cochin-brahma back to Cochin, mostly because of their size. They are a lot bigger than any of our other bantam Cochin. I easily overlooked the comb and wattles due to how well developed their plumage is and awesome coloring. I really like the blue splash with red bleedthrough
