I think this Cochin is a roo...

Harry/Harriet last year at this time. Posted him/her several times.

Not until the Buff Orpington beat him up were we sure Harriet was Harry.....and we so wanted Harriet. So, good luck.....Cochins....it is just hard to tell unless you have another the same age to compare them to. In the eggs we hatched this spring by the time they were six weeks I could see the difference between the boys and the girls.

VERY slow to mature.

Okay. I'm guessing pullet...

7 votes for pullet
4 votes for roo

I didn't really care either way.

BTW, does anyone know what combinations of a black Cochin roo and blue and red Cochin hens would turn out like? Is the black dominant?

I thought I had a roo also when my pullet had a huge red comb early and everyone here told me roo but she was a girl

I think I may vote she but my roo also fooled me and looked like a hen for a LONG time until he finally crowed and started mating. LOL All that said I still vote hen
