After googling around yesterday I'm thinking Oogity Boogity is a male. Can anyone help me figure out if I'm on the right track? He's still young. I believe he will be four weeks old this Sunday. I'm trying to figure out of my reasoning is sound, so if you can help me out I'd love you forever. :)

He's a barred rock (probable mix), born Jan 21st. And he's massive.

(He's the white speckled one)

I'm thinking he's male due to the large comb size, am I right? He's also much larger than my other two his age (black copper marans and bucket). Lastly his legs are very thick, which I think can indicate a male?

Bonus round, I'm thinking Oogity is a male as well? He's the black one in the above picture beside Angry Baby.

And I'm pretty sure Invi is female. I don't have a clear picture of her comb, but she's the dark yellow/brown one above. She's a buckeye

I'm sure they're too young to be sure, but I'd hate to call him a her his entire life. I know he will never know, but I will.

Oh yes, I don't intend for a 100 percent answer. A general idea helps, though. Also wondering if I'm doing the sexing right.

I *think* Invi is leaning towards female? It's a Buckeye. She's in the above group picture. The dark brown/yellow one.

I believe you are correct on that one too!
Still too young to be 100% sure though.

Sweet! Even if they turn out to be the opposite, at least based on the information we have so far I can say I'm on the right track.

I'm worried that my supposed female buff Orpington is a male (She's way too young to tell, I think. She's... Two? weeks but is the only one of the younger three with a comb) so I figured I'd check the others. If I could tell what the others are, then when Ava's time comes I can hopefully tell. Besides, it's a fun skill to learn. :)

Invi I kind of had to guess on. Can I ask what it is that makes you lean towards female? Her feathers? Want to gather what info I can so I'm better in the future.

4 weeks is a little young to be sure but if the combs start turning pink then you have males. ;)

Oh yes, I'll check them again in a few weeks just to be positive. I just want to be sure that with the info we have so far I'm on the right track. Even if the 'test' is faulty I can say I would get it right, you know?

With my luck, I'm fully expecting all three of my supposed girls to be males, as well as all three of the older ones.

I once had a cat who I was a thousand percent sure was male. I've sexed a million cats before, always right. He was the best male I'd ever had, right up until he went into heat. SHE taught me to never put your eggs in one basket.
