i have to leave for work in a little after six... what do i do with it? can it stay in bator til 10 am so it can dry off?
also the egg cartons soaked like in the pic worked great for increasing the humidity.

ok well i am leaving him in the bator. i will see in four hours how she is doing. will update when i get home.

Yes, Leave the baby in the bator..
They have enough food in their belly to last 24+ hours..And the chick needs to be totally dry before you put it in the brooder area under a heat lamp

CONGRATS !!!!!! That was fast !! WOW !!!!

When you get home I would take him out and put him under the heat lamp in the brooder and get the hum back down apap (you dont want the hum to high for to long) Even if he's a little damp you should be fine putting him in the brooder (under the heat lamp, he will dry quick that way)

Cant wait to see a pic of him dry, what a cutie !!

i am trying to get my humidity back down. as soon as he hatched, i took all the extra water out. again, putting the wet carton pieces in really helped. i would even suggest it to someone.

Aaaawww. Very cute.
Hopefully s/he will have buddies soon.

Luckily, I was able to put my one new chickie in with 8 others that are a little over a week old.
