I went to let out my girls this morning, and there were two dead chicks laying there. They were squished by the others, now here i was thinking they were safe at this age from getting squished. It didn't even get that cold last night.
One of my americana and my precious Milles fleur were killed.

ETA- They are 6 weeks old.

They had plenty food and water, and they were all healthy, had (most, there heads are still fuzzy) There feathers, i just don't know why. :(

I am so sorry for your loss. If they were squished, I would say that they got cold and piled. Are they alone, or with larger birds?

Losing babies is just so hard.

Are you sure they were killed by squishing? At that age the cold should not have bothered them at all. It's possible something frightened them where they piled up in a corner and squished some, but that seems a bit unusual at that age unless you have a bunch. How many do you have?

I'd suggest watching them for signs of sickness. At that age, coccidiosis is always a concern, especially if they have recently been introduced to the ground. Makek's is another specific concern. But it could be something else. Did they maybe eat something moldy? What you are looking for is anything out of the ordinary, but especially a chick that is lethargic and hunched up or moving funny.

I am sorry to hear that. It is never pleasant to lose one.

I am pretty sure. :/
We have about 30 chicks, and 20 hens.
I am not sure what they could have eaten, they are free range, so who knows
