I'm so happy to have a kindred spirit here! I went to the post office the other day to pick up a shipment of 16 white muscovy babies. It was almost 100 degrees outside, but my pan of my guinea pig type cage where I put the ducklings for the first week, cracked when I set it up the night before, so I had to stop at the pet store. So, I put the box of muscovies right in the cart and they were peeping like crazy as I walked up and down the aisle and I attracted a small crowd of city people. Those poor babies were held by everyone and it was like an educational seminar.
Got my cage...found out the store actually sold chicken and duck feed (saving me lots of gas money because the feed store is so far away and has such limited hours), and introduced about 20 people to muscovies. The babies took it all in stride, thank goodness.
But, the look on peoples' faces when they hear the very loud peeping and see the box with lots of yellow heads is priceless!!
Watch out..that chicken might become a shop-a-holic if you aren't careful!
I LOVE YOUR PHOTOS (and am envious of your coop!)
