I'm sorry but I don't know what you think is going to be "easy" about it. Most of the people that I know that farm work harder than anyone!!

Well I've worked in a chinese restaurant for 2 and a half years now, working 12hr a day, 6 days a wk, and $50k is what I saved, I got a car but no house, basically I got tired of working such long hours and I just wanna do some easy job and I like to have animals around so if I can just raise chickens and live day to day with food and internet I'm good, I dont wanna ask for a bmw or $300k house, if you know what I'm talking about.

Well if you've managed to save that much in 2 1/2 years maybe my husband and I should give up farming and our cow herd and get a job in a chinese restaurant.

Livestock whether it's chickens or cattle require a lot of hard work and long days if you want to make even a little money at it. I work 365 days a year......most days at least a 12 hour day if not more.

How so you can't make more than me if you work 12hr a day and all year long, I get paid monthly, $2,700 and I get free food and place to live.

If you are on the up and up and not a troll who's jerking us around I think you need to keep your job at the restaurant.........personally I smell a troll at work.

supremeguy you have done pretty good to save 50k working in food service for that short time. I've been working 30 years and don't have near that, but our home is paid for. Your best bet is more education. Find a job that allows you the time for classes and work you way into what you want. There is no "easy" money out there short of bank robbery or drug-running and they can have some nasty results as you know.

I think what happened here is you've tried to combine together the ideas of "easy" and "getting a good living without working." At least, that is how it sounds.
To most people who DO work for a living, or have achieved anything in life, that is more than just a pipe dream... it is the same as welfare.
And if there is one thing they've learned, it is that they are the ones who end up paying for THAT!

There's an old saying that goes, "Nothing good comes easy." In this life you are expected to "GO, DO and BECOME" something.
If you don't or won't, you are considered a slacker by the vast majority of people already have.
One of the challenges we face today, is that we as a culture have bought a special load of manure for ourselves.
From the earliest of ages, we give our kids an entitlement education they come to disrespect, we tell them they are "special" and "unique" and we ply them with the notion that they can be whatever they want. Inevitably they want to be rap stars, millionaires or international spies.

What we fail to tell them is they have to choose wisely, because they'll have to WORK for whatever they get - there aint no free ride.
So, when they reach 18, everyone looks at them and asks, "Now... what are you gonna do?"
"Huh? Do?" they respond. "What do you mean do? I'm special and unique... you mean I have to DO something, too?"

Like it or not, human society is intent on accomplishment and achievement... which requires effort.
It's the same if you are a goatherd in Morocco, an accountant in Toronto, or a chicken farmer anywhere.

Congratulations on living a frugal life style and saving your money- it is a start towards a successful life. On the other hand, raising any type of animal is not an "easy" or "low effort" job. It is 24/7 and carries the risk of losses through disease, predation, economic downfall, etc. Enter into anything that you do gradually and with the proper education. Keep your day job, learn whatever you can, and enter into new enterprises slowly. Good luck. By the way at 70 years old I am still trying to define my dream job.
