I bought a used Sportmrnt GFQ and next winter I will changed my wafter to a electronic thermometer.
The eggs I have already hitched has paid for the bator. I sold all the chickens I hatched at a week old.
And now I am hatching turkeys for my commericail Thanksgiving business.
My commerical is helping pay to get started in my pure breed operation. So, if I can hitch out chickens and turkeys it pays for another part of my operation.
After I do my Thanksgiving push I will have money to update my used bator, Maybe you could do the same thing. I also have a used bator cabinet style that will hitch 600 turkey eggs. I need to have it rewired and buy trays for it because it set up for emus. But I give $750 for a $8,000 year old bator but the packrats got in the wiring after I got it. So, even with the rewiring and trays I still have a whale of a good deal.
