I do not know about anyone else's Hamburgs but mine only laid 6 months out of the year. They were no more flighty then the other breeds of hens, but much more territorial.

I really want sexlinks because they lay a lot and mainly because I want to tell the hens apart from the roosters they sounded great until I got to the part where they only live 2-3 years and my chickens are like my children and I want them to live a while also because we have a child in the house and they would be sad any advice?
hopefully we don't have to many but I have a set up for the Roos so they won't fight or be togetherWe're looking for hens only? If you purchased a few chicks and a couple turned out to be roosters would you keep one and get rid of the rest?
I agree with Bantychooks about IBs being sexlinks, but I have to say that my Isa Browns are very sweet.maybe isabrowns
thanksI got a chick last year that was supposed be a Buff Orpington, because I already had two BOs, and it turned out to be a Cinnamon Queen. The Cinnamon Queen has laid eggs every day starting at about 5 months old, with one day a month not laying an eggs.
