NewtoChooks - sounds like you have quite a way with your DH!

Mine has gone from being benevolently skeptical of my chicken adventure to being quite attached to our three girls, but he still says an emphatic NO to a second coop. We travel a lot, so that's part of the problem... But who knows what the future may bring

Thanks for the tip on the Marans breeder - I'm in SoCal so that's very helpful. And I think mypetchicken is on the East coast which does worry me a bit - I hate to think of those poor little ones being shipped all the way across the country...

We go out of town frequently as well. 3 words................Automatic door opener.

That with big feeders/waterers, you can be gone for a few days without any problems. I have someone come and collect eggs.

If you are able to get any more chicks/hatch some eggs, please let me know....I've sent some eggs to Cal...including to New 2 chooks and would love to help you in your venture as well.

Best of luck.....We have about 400 poultry.....give maybe 40 babies I'm not counties cause they're on the porch and I'm still having dreams of more..........Don't worry, we full time farm....
