I Want Quail- Need Help- All Died

a lady give me 100 button quail eggs. i tried to hatch with my chicken eggs. 15 hatched 2 lived 0 survived. i get 96 percent from my chicken eggs.

Button's are very fragile so it could have been anything from egg/shell quality, fertility, to the health of the parent stock. I wouldn't beat yourself up over it. when I hatch my own eggs from my stock I get great hatch rates, when I get some from other folks not so much.

Quail eggs tend to be hardier than chicken eggs not more fragile. The chicks can be but that's mostly a size issue. If the chickens hatched the quail should have unless they were duds to begin with or something very different was done during incubation between the 2.

Thanks Al6517 and Akane, the eggs looked pretty rough and i dont know how old they were. I hatch my own chicken eggs. Maybe i will buy some quail grown so i can get some better eggs. Thanks for the help that makes more since. BYC keep up the good advice.
