I want to hatch more eggs...what's wrong with me?

I've got a bunch that came from under a broody they could hatch any time from wed-sat I think... so i'm going to wait until i see drawdown before i put them in the hatcher.

and i'm already planning my next hatch, WHEN (not if. keep saying it. when not if...) my dorking girls ever lay enough eggs for me to incubate. then again they've only been here 2 weeks, and i got my first one yesterday. at 10 days i'm putting whatever i've got in the 'bator. i can guarantee that LOL. so i'm crossing fingers for at least 12 eggs, from the 2 girls. that would give me enough birds to choose from in the spring to concentrate my breeding program on...

I'm sorry I cannot offer you any advice on this matter. I too have an incubating addiction. Perhaps you should join the topic "Incubators Anonymous". There is no known cure for this, but there is a lot of support to get you through.

Sometimes the first step is admitting you have a problem. Hello, my name is Stacy, and I'm an incubating addict.

ETA: Up until last night I was only addicted to ducks. Now it seems my addiction is spreading to chickens. (Demonstrated in the fact that I have placed a bid on eggs in the auction.)
This disease can be "poultry specific". But is known to spread to other breads such as turkey, guineas and peafowl.

ROFL yes, i'm a hatchaholic too... and while the "inc-anon" thread is great support, there are many 'enablers' on there as well.

unfortunately (for me) they don't have the breeds i'm looking for right now. but that's ok. my new trio just started laying again yesterday, so

i should have some more eggs to incubate soon...

What is your trio? I put a bid on some silkies. I have never had them or know anything about them... so I must research if I win this bid!

i picked up a trio of silver grey dorkings 2 weeks ago. got my 2nd egg just now. 8) hoping they both start laying consistently so i can fill the 'bator in the next week or so.
