I want to know what to put in my chicken run for bedding

I am building my chicken coop on a concrete slab in my backyard and i knew i needed to put bedding out but i wanted to know what material wouldn't have to be replaced after every rain and thanks in advance.

Are you talking about inside a coop or outside in a run?

I'd try sand. Any slope to the pad?

i herd that it takes a while to dry out and how often would i have to change it

The water will go straight through the sand to the lowest point. If the slab has any amount of slope to it the water will shed. Dump a bucket of water on the slab and check where the water goes.

You might get away with just raking it and hosing it down to rinse any organic matter out. I have plain old dirt heavy on the clay side and I'll rake it out maybe every other month.

The size and stocking rate is more important.
