I want to order 4 to 6 Easter Egger chickens...

You might have to wait until spring when their availability will be greater. You can also check back with the My Pet Chicken website. One feature that I love is when you click on the breed, it will show you available shipping dates for that breed. There is also a yellow (?) box that says "more availability". If you click on this box, it will show a chart with all of the breeds that are available for the weekly shipping dates. Once in a while, they will have chicks become available that were previously sold out. As someone already suggested, you may be able to find chicks that are closer to you. Good luck!

I didn't know there was a state thread. I'll check it out. I'll probably go ahead and wait till spring though. thanks for the help.

Shipping for that small an order at MPC is high. Ideal Poultry has some. I ordered from Ideal and really liked what we received from them. They have a 25 doller minimum. That would be about 10 chicks. That is a little more than you need, but it might be cheaper to do that. You could pick the best ones and give the 5 you don't want away and it would cost less than MPC.

You could check the Meyer website early Monday morning - and they will list what's available right then. I had checked their website several times last weekend, and no EEs were available, but when I checked it early at the beginning of the week, they suddenly had Easter Eggers (they call them Ameraucanas) available. Apparently they had a larger hatch than anticipated. I placed my order - and less than 24 hours later, I had my EEs. About 10 minutes after I placed my order, they were no longer available. So you have to catch them at the right time. You could also call their toll-free number first thing on Monday morning and see if they have extra EEs in this week's hatch.

I already have four EEs that just started laying a few weeks ago. Two of them lay the prettiest green eggs, one lays blue-green eggs, and the fourth lays a cream-colored egg. Just gorgeous colors!

Good luck!
