Many hospitals have a system for thanking staff for things like this. It might be called Magic or Stars, its usually a postcard thing that goes in a little mailbox thing at the front desk. Also, be sure to fill out the Press-Gainey review form when it comes and return it timely! Positive (and negative) comments are part of the doctor's permanent record.
Please DO share your positive experience of your physician! Believe me, there are hundreds of complaints on every doctor from crazy people looking for a quick lawsuit. Our good souls, the good doctors and nurses, really NEED the documented proof that they're great at their jobs! (You wouldn't believe the nasty stuff people report on good doctors. Some people are evil and they mean to take it all from good doctors and nurses) Your good doctor needs your good remarks on those forms! Its an easy way to "pass it on" and the last thing your doctor has time for is documenting what a good job he did. If patients don't write it down, it never gets done.
I sent up prayers for your asthmatic. This is a hard season for asthma. Read Scientific American July/August 2009 regarding "what celiac research has taught us". They're very close to understanding and treating autoimmune inflammatory disorders. There's hope for us yet! Our kid's futures are beginning to look bright, at least easier to breathe in!
