Because what a lovely "pullet" she's turning out to be! A lovely VERY LOUD PROUD "pullet" just like "her" two sisters. And my children are totally in love with "her" at this point, too. We all are! Hand-raised from a chick!

So, again, THANKS A LOT- from myself and my close-by neighbors.

PS Have you considered a new line of work? Just a thought...

Well shiver me timbers, she is one manly looking girl now, isn't SHE??
That is a bummer. Just tell your neighbors that she is the resident town crier/alarm clock.

this bird! He lets me pick him up and kiss his little head and scratch his neck! He's so sweet! He eats out of my hand nicely! What the heck am I gonna do?

I was trying to deny the inevitable (i mean, seriously, the wattle?) until the little guy started walking the perimeter of the henhouse area like he was on guard duty, squawking like crazy.

Yea, *NOT* a hen. Dang-it.

Then this morning, I read this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=321820

Is he going to turn into Evil Devil Rooster one day and start attacking me? How do I know if he'll stay nice or turn into Cujo?!

Do ALL roosters crow noisily or is there any hope he'll be a quieter one? There's a range of behaviors right? It's possible he'll stay sweet? I mean, it's just him and six lovely ladies... How unhappy could a bloke in that situation BE, right?

I don't wanna re-home him!!

I think that you need to re-home him for the peace and peace of mind for yourself and your neighbors. He may be the nicest guy ever, but he may get to a point of wanting to defend his ladies and hurt you or your kids. If he is male, he will crow. Like you said, what bloke could have it better and he WILL want to brag about it to everyone within earshot.
I bet if you look around you can find a nice loving home for him and spoil the heck out of a different bird. Heck, get a Silkie girl for that kind of stuff

I take it you are not allowed to have roosters where you live? Happened to me too. I ended up keeping him in the bathroom in a cage under a towel until the weekend when he went to auction. I hated it and felt so bad for him. Then I moved to the country! Yay! Now my roos can boast to the roos on all sides all hours of the day. Life is good.
If you do live in a place where you can have roosters, I'd keep him and see how he turns out. Both my current roos ignore or run from humans, the thought of attacking us never even comes into their minds. Or if it does, they lose it quickly.
