Hi all,

I'm new here but I've been lurking and reading for awhile. I'm learning everything about chickens here. I think this website is one of the most informative sites! I just love it. My husband thinks I'm crazy for reading about chickens but I'm hooked.

I would like to share pics of our little girl.

I'm a first time chicken owner, and I would LOVE another chicken. But my husband is kinda iffy on the chicken thing. And this little girl was an impromptu buy with my daughter. However, I have become obsessed with all things chicken! My husband cannot understand why I stand out in the backyard and go "chick chick chick chick chick," all afternoon. Lol.

We only have this one, and I read they get lonely so I'm worried about that. I garden all the time, and I'm always coming in and out and she is so tame she'll just follow me around. And it's the craziest thing but my old ten year cat has taken a liking to her. They sit in the sun on the porch together.

Sorry for rambling, I'm just really excited about her! Thanks again!

I completely understand the husband thing, however, he understands how Very imperative it is for the chicken's health and such, that there would need to be more chickens.

They are Highly sociable animals,, and even tho you will be there and so forth, you are still Not a chicken.

I really really hope you get a friend for her ASAP..

I would love to order several more, but I have no idea who to use. I've never ordered chickens before. I've been doing some research. When I went back to the feed store they told me all their chickens had gotten mixed up so there was no telling what I would get. And I don't really want a roo, I think my neighbors would kill me.

Your little girl is darling. You're going to love watching her grow! They're so much fun to have around. I would surely recommend getting her a friend, too. If you read around on these forums, you'll be able to tell boy chicks from the girls more easily. Usually the girls will start to feather out faster, so you'll probably see wing feathers and signs of a tail sooner on them. Also, if you get another Red Sex-link or a Black sex-link, you're guaranteed to have girls. Hope that helps!

I have one red sex-link too! She used to have a buddy, but my sisters dog got her. Although, she is not alone. She lives with my 4 ducks. She is really friendly too

Beautiful pictures! I have 6 just like her. I'm hooked on this Forum too and I laugh at myself some times, who would have told me, hooked on chicks!! LMAO
