I wanted to support my local feed store, but my flock hates their feed!

I don't speak for Purina, or any company, but their chicken feeds have been fine for a long time. They also have organic and non-GMO feeds for people who prefer them.
Any company that doesn't make a profit can't stay in business for long!
They have done a lot of the research that goes into making livestock feeds balanced and useful.

I would be willing to agree with parts of this. But would postulate that most of their research is related to what corners can they cut based on a profit driven motivation.

Mary I am not trying to be confrontational at all. I am a #berniebro who just accepts the world we live in. Purina doesn't care about you or I or our chicks they only care if we buy their product.

I agree I don't trust Purina either. It was ok when I was feeding/attracting fish in Iraq. But the GMO components are totally unacceptable for my pullets/hens.

Penny, what don’t you like about purina feeds?

it would be easier to say what i do like Nothing I had a natural pet food company for 18 years

@AllenK@new2this have you asked the local store to order what you want? Mine told me they buy from M-G and can get anything, but don't stock it. So I special order the #14 MG Chick Grower granules (18% protein) and every 2 weeks I go pick up the bag they ordered for me.

What brands do they carry? I will say that MG is local in Texas and do use soybeans. I think Texas Naturals is the organic brand they carry for twice the price.

Good luck
